England - Scotland - Wales
The Pick and Flower of England
Tour Summary
“Let my Servant Heber go to England, and proclaim my gospel and open the door of salvation to that Nation.” This was the voice of the Lord to the Prophet Joseph Smith in June 1837.
Since then, the United Kingdom has played a pivotal role in the History of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, playing host to the oldest, continuous functioning church unit in the world, in Preston England.
Two mission’s by many of the Twelve Apostles and thousands of converts later, this “green and pleasant land” is one of the most wonderful places to visit in the world. The “mother land” for many, England, Wales and Scotland, will show you why, this tiny island nearly ruled the world.
This tour begins in London with visits in Wales, the mid-lands, Liverpool, the Isle of Mann, Manchester, and Preston, ending in the great north country of Scotland.
Unique Experiences
The Isle of Great Britain has had more influence over the current world that we know than any other place. You can see the influence of Britain in every continent and in most every country. From Hong Kong to Central Park, the British have made their mark on the world.
You will see Britain in a way you could never imagine from the places where your ancestors came from, to the most sacred Church history locations. You will experience London, one of the world’s greatest modern cities. You will see some of the ancient mounds in the east, Avenbury and Salisbury. You will see Wales, where Don Jones converted thousands. You will see mountains and Castles, Benbow farm and the sea. You will walk in the very footsteps if the first missionaries, from Liverpool to Preston. You will sail from Liverpool, like thousands of saints did, on your way out to the Isle of Mann, one of the most wonderful places in Britain.
Then through the north west, Lancashire and the Preston Temple, the green and pleasant land, where you will sing “Jerusalem” in the very place where it was written.
Then on to Scotland, where some of the most brave and loyal have come from. Every President of the Church, from Brigham Young to Gordon B. Hinckley, served in Britain. You must see the places that have influenced so many of our leaders.
